Developing economy is not only simple are production and trading between regions of a country and more is among countries with the variety of social and political system and different cultures but also need to exchange relations, learn and receive valuable experience lessons from them to find the most suitable lesson to apply into our economy.

Our economy after less development years since system of budget subsidies with results like shortage of foods, lack of resources for production, indirection with no main export good… With the “DOI MOI” policy, we began taking changes, step by step, forward to a better economy. The government issued many policies to encourage the development economy in all regions, commend the individuals, organizations have good results in developing economy…

With the joining WTO of Viet Nam and the unstable in the cycle of economy, we need more and more preparation for coping with new troubles that always appear to prevent the development of economy if we don’t have the preparation. The most challenge for Vietnamese economy is to open for international market because we cannot use high taxes to protect our domestic firms. To make a change, we need better open policies and more investment for our country. So, how can we attract more investment (funds, technology, education…) to our country?

We have many partners in the international market, and each country has their own advantage in each section. We cannot “copy and paste” their experience into our country because we are always different. Because we passed by the capitalism when we’re over to the socialism, we tried to avoid anything or at least not to apply some models of some good experiences… Although they may be better, we’re afraid, afraid of become like capitalism… But now, since we began opening a little our market in 2007 (after we joined WTO), we’ve had a very long way to continue. A long way to solve problem, one by one; a long way to improve our economy and the standard living; a long way to catch up countries in our area – Southeast Asia; a long way to make the name Viet Nam appear in the mind-map, not only in the war time but also nowadays, a country for peace with friendly people living in the stable economy… So, which way can we learn better than from the basic – education? With our instructor’s help, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang, we chose Canada and Australia as our study objects. The economic systems of Canada and Australia are greatly complicated. We need to study deeply the running of these economic systems to have the most general view about them as well as problems that both Canada and Australia are confronting.
