This deliverable is the result of the work that has been done in WP2, this work consisted of three tasks:

Task 2.1: Description of the semantic information technology available to the project. This tasks consists of a study of available ontology languages, ontologies, reasoners, standards and applications relevant to the project. This includes future developments in technology and standardisation and should focus on the emerging trend indicating the direction of next generation semantic system technology.

Task 2.2: Description of stock market relevant information standards and requirements. This tasks consists of a study of the data and data formats generally used within the stock trading domain. In addition, this tasks analyses the current and future emerging developments in the relevant information technology areas and their expected effects on stock market data representations.

Task 2.3: Definition of the consequences to the project (design implications) resulting from the previous tasks (study of relevant current and expected future developments in both domain (stock market) specific as in semantic system technology).

The results of the different tasks will be described in this document, following the structure of the description of work. Section two will describe the relevant semantic information technology, section three the more domain specific information standards and requirements and in section four a description of the consequence this all has for the design of the application will be given.
